Conferences can provide a host of rewards to translators who make the effort to attend them. That’s why the Tomedes website includes a conference page listing all of the major translation and localization conferences each year. There are some great events planned for 2019, so we thought it would also be good to share some details of some of the best of these below.
Attending a conference provides you with the opportunity to learn from the speakers and workshops delivered as part of the event, but new knowledge isn’t the only benefit. Conferences are also great places for networking and meeting both fellow translators and contacts who could end up becoming clients.
Translation conferences are also an excellent way to keep yourself motivated if you work freelance. The joy of learning, couple with the inspiration that comes from travelling (and as you’ll see below, there are some great locations on the list) can leave you feeling refreshed and newly enthusiastic about your translation career.
If you’ve not yet attended a translation or localization conference, perhaps 2019 should be the year that you do!
