Across Facebook and LinkedIn there are a vast array of pages and groups for those with a love of languages. Here we pick out some of the best to help you get the most out of social media as part of your translation career. 

The best Facebook groups for translators

1. Translators and Interpreters (ProZ.com)

This is probably the best place to start. A community and networking site for translators around the globe, it has nearly 9,000 members, with an emphasis on providing the tools and opportunities for translators to work better, expand their businesses and have fun while doing it. 

2. Translation Team2013

This is another handy group. Members share useful information and take a team approach to helping each other. The focus is on learning to translate, with posts including links to lectures, PowerPoint presentations and more. 

3. Translation and Interpreting Group

This is another useful resource. The group welcomes professionals and students, providing an open forum for discussion and resource-sharing from around the world. 

4. Translation events

For Russian speakers this is a great group with a strong social element. Details of events are shared by members, ranging from international conferences to local trips to the bowling alley.

This is another excellent resource for those looking for translation jobs.
